If you have experience with tractors and tractor tyres, then you might be used to tyres that have tubes inside of them. For a long time, this was the most common type of tyre that was used on most types of tractors. However, this is not the case now, and you can find a lot of tractor tyres that are tubeless. Just because these tyres are available -- and just because they do have some benefits -- does not mean that they are the best types of tyres for you to buy for your tractor, however. There's a good chance you will find that you will still want to continue used tyres with tubes on your tractors and other farming equipment for these reasons and more.
The Tubes Provide an Extra Layer of Protection
Of course, it's important for you to be careful and to try to avoid running over anything that might cause you to get a flat tyre. However, no matter how careful you might be, you might run over a sharp stick, a nail or something else that could puncture your tractor tyre when you're ploughing fields, cutting grass or driving from one farm to another. Tractor tyres that have tubes provide an extra layer of protection because of the tube, so you might like this extra protection that will help you avoid having to deal with a flat tyre.
Adding Air to Your Tyre Is Easier
If you find that you need to add more air to one or more of your tractor tyres, you will probably be glad to have a tire with a tube. Because the tube does provide some support, you should not have to jack up your tractor in order to add more air to one or more of your tyres.
Your Rims Will Be Better Protected
Buying new rims for your tractor tyres could be expensive, but you do have to worry about things like tyre ballast that you add to your tractor tyres causing corrosion on your rims. Although this can still happen if you choose tyres with tubes, the rims are better protected, so there is less of a chance of this happening.
You Can Deal With Leaks More Quickly
If you find that your tubed tractor tyre has a leak, you can simply replace the whole tube, which should take care of the problem. It can be quite a bit more complicated to find minor leaks in tubeless tractor tyres.
Even though tubeless tractor tyres have become more popular, this doesn't mean that you should start using them on your tractor. Instead, consider continuing to purchase tubed tractor tyres for these important reasons.
