Poker, the Universal Game
Poker is truly the universal game.
While many different sports are popular in many different countries around the world, poker is loved across the globe.
This is reflected by the dozens and dozens of countries that are represented at events like the world Series of Poker and other major tournaments spanning the globe. Texas Hold em truly unites people.
While playing online poker also, you meet a lot of different people of many different nationalities. It’s always a fund and interesting experience to be sitting at a table with four or five different countries than the one you are from. I think we take things like that for granted, but that truly is the magic of the internet and the technology we are lucky to have at our fingertips.
In many countries, sadly, poker and gambling in general are looked down upon, as only the pastime of criminals and lowlifes.
But really, we poker players are a friendly lot, and one of the most diverse groups out there. So while we may have our differences when it comes to politics, and sporting events, and other trivialities, the poker table is one of the few places around where people from all over the world come together in a cordial way to play a game they love. So I salute you, the poker player, for making the world a better place.
